Aftercare
We are a Nail Salon located in North London, specialising in Manicures, Pedicures, Shellac Gel Polish, and Acrylic extensions, offering enduring nail treatments and personalised advice. At TONTON Nails, our aim is to ensure you receive the optimal experience and longevity from your treatment. We offer guidance on maintaining the treatment of your preference for prolonged wear. Our products are crafted to endure up to 2 weeks, with diligent care.
The importance of protection
Ensuring the longevity of your treated hands or feet is paramount. We highly recommend the use of rubber gloves while washing dishes or engaging in cleaning activities to preserve the natural state of the product, prevent water seepage between the nail bed and product, and maintain the shine of your nails for an extended period. Additionally, opting for organic or biological creams and lotions, typically scentless, is preferable over harsh alternatives, as they aid in preventing fungal infections. Manicure & Nail Extensions
At TONTON Nails, we prioritise delivering treatments of the utmost quality, ensuring durability to withstand daily activities. Despite their resilience, all levels of toughness are susceptible to pressure and stress. To maintain nail integrity, we recommend regular infills to prevent fragility. If lifting occurs, refrain from peeling the product, as this can harm the natural nail. Instead, seek assistance from our technicians to reattach any peeled natural nails to avoid the risk of fungal infection due to moisture accumulation. Acrylic/gel powder nails can be refilled for up to 3 months, after which we advise removal and application of a fresh set either over the natural nail or with extensions.
Our UV Gel treatment provides a high gloss, shiny finish, susceptible to dulling from soapy dishwater, hence the importance of wearing gloves.
Remember, rubber gloves are your allies in maintaining nail health!
Pedicure
When you visit for a pedicure, it’s important to consider the extent of hard skin on your feet. Our technicians can only remove a certain amount of this skin, as once it’s gone, the thinner skin underneath becomes vulnerable. This area, under the pressure of body weight, may crack, leading to soreness and bleeding. To prevent this, we recommend bi-monthly treatments. This frequency helps your feet adjust to the skin stretching, reducing the likelihood of splitting when removing hard skin. While it’s a gradual process requiring maintenance, the benefits are well worth it.
